Shamim Haldankar, M.A.
CCC-SLP (650) 241 8332 received her Master’s degree in Speech Language
Pathology from Ohio University in 1994. She has been a therapist for over 18
years starting her career working with adults with communicative, cognitive,
hearing and swallowing disorders including stroke, head injury, and other
progressive degenerative and neurological disorders. She worked at Rehabworks
formerly Novacare, Inc. in various capacities including as a therapist,
rehabilitation manager, clinical specialist, and clinical fellow supervisor but
has always remained close to direct care. Over the past 13 years of her
professional career, she has focused on working with the pediatric
population. She worked at James Whitcomb Riley Hospital for
Children, Clarion Health, Inc., Indianapolis, Indiana form 1999-2000. She worked in the NICU, PICU and outpatient
setting with a range of disabilities
such as Autism, Down’s syndrome, cerebral palsy, developmental delay, apraxia
of speech, failure to thrive, congenital birth defects, swallowing disorders
and various other syndromes. Ms.
Haldankar worked in private settings after moving to Southern California in
2000. She started her own private
practice in 2003 providing home-based and office-based treatment for children
(1-18 years of age) with a variety of communication disorders specializing in children with Autism and Apraxia of speech. She is PROMPT trained. She has also served as a Board member of the
Autism Society Ventura County (ASVC) from 2009-2012, where she was recently
recognized for her outstanding contribution. She recently relocated to the Bay
area with her family and looks forward to applying her knowledge, skills and
experience working with children and their families.
